About the Event

The Talmud Troop is currently delving into Pirkei Avot (Sayings of Our Fathers) by reading Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz's social justice commentary (2018 CCAR Press). Pirkei Avot is a tractate of the Talmud that compiles the ethical teachings and maxims from Rabbinic Jewish tradition. In thought-provoking and often lively discussions, each week the group reads passages and explores the connection between the ancient texts and our modern lives.
