Hevreh is a community of faith and conscience. We are a spiritual community, and for many of us, we express that spirituality through action in the broader community. Directed by the values of chesed (lovingkindness) and tzedek (justice), Hevreh is a community with social action and social justice at our core.
Members of our community prepare a monthly meal for the Breaking Bread Kitchen, we volunteer regularly at our People’s Pantry, and we hold regular blood drives. Hevreh is a member of the Four Freedoms Coalition, and our community is also a Brit Olam Congregation, taking part in the Religious Action Center’s Urgency of Now Campaign.
For some, volunteerism, community service, social action, and social justice are ways to engage in community and with one’s own spiritual life. We’d love to include you in all that’s going on. Please be in touch with Rabbi Hirsch for more information.
